Research use only. Not for human or veterinary use.

Research use policy

Last updated 23 October 2026

Amidae supplies peptides and laboratory reagents for research use only. This policy explains what that means, who we sell to, what we ask buyers to confirm, and what we will and won't do. It sits alongside our terms of service, which take precedence if the two ever differ.

1. What research use only means

Our products are chemical reagents for laboratory work, such as analytical methods, in vitro assays and other research that does not involve giving a product to people or animals. They are not medicines, food, supplements or cosmetics. They have not been approved by the MHRA or any other regulator for use in humans or animals, and they are not for human or veterinary use.

A label alone doesn't make a product a research reagent. How a product is described, sold and supported matters too, so this policy covers our whole business: product pages, guides, emails, customer support, reviews and social media.

2. Who we sell to

We sell to adults buying for legitimate laboratory research, including:

  • universities and research institutes
  • companies with laboratory, analytical or quality-control functions
  • independent researchers with the knowledge and facilities to handle research chemicals safely

Organisations can apply for a trade account. We may ask for evidence of the organisation, such as a company number or an institutional email address, before we approve one.

3. What buyers confirm

Before placing an order, every buyer confirms that they:

  • are 18 or over
  • are buying the products for laboratory research
  • will not use the products, or allow them to be used, in or on humans or animals, or as food, a drug or a cosmetic
  • will store, handle and dispose of the products as shown on the product page and safety data sheet, and in line with the law
  • will not resell or supply the products to anyone for human or animal use

We keep a record of this declaration with each order.

4. What we publish

Product pages describe each compound by its chemistry and documentation: sequence, molecular formula and weight, CAS number, purity, storage conditions, literature references and the certificate of analysis for each lot. Our library covers laboratory chemistry, testing and handling.

We don't publish, and won't provide:

  • dosing information, protocols, cycles or “stacks”
  • claims about health, benefits, results or effects in people or animals
  • guidance on preparing products for injection or any other route of administration
  • syringes, needles, injection pens or kits

We don't sell controlled drugs, and we don't sell products we haven't taken legal advice on.

5. Customer support

We're happy to answer questions about chemistry, documentation, storage, orders and delivery. We don't answer questions about using our products in humans or animals. If a message asks about it, we'll say so and won't give advice, and we may review the account.

6. Orders we refuse

We will decline or cancel an order, and refund it in full, if:

  • the order, its notes or your messages suggest human or animal use
  • we can't verify your identity, your organisation or your payment
  • the quantities, the combination of products or the delivery address raise concerns
  • we can't lawfully ship the products to the destination

We may close an account that breaches this policy or our terms, and refuse future orders from it.

7. Reviews and comments

We moderate reviews and comments on our site and our social media. We don't publish, and will remove, any that describe personal use, dosing or effects in people or animals.

8. Labels and documents

Every vial is labelled “For research use only. Not for human or veterinary use”, with its lot number, quantity and storage conditions. Each lot's certificate of analysis is on its COA page, and safety data sheets are on the product page or available on request. See Quality for how we document our products.

9. Reporting a concern

If you see something on our site, in our emails or on our social media that doesn't meet this policy, please tell us at hello@amidae.com. We'll review it and correct or remove it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy, for example when the law or our catalogue changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
