These terms apply to every order you place on amidae.com. Please read them before you order, and in particular the research use only section. You'll be asked to accept them at checkout.

1. About us

Amidae is a trading name of [Company name] Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number [company number]), with its registered office at [registered office address]. You can contact us at hello@amidae.com.

2. Research use only

Our products are chemical reagents supplied for laboratory research use only. They are not medicines, food, supplements or cosmetics. They have not been approved by the MHRA or any other regulator for use in humans or animals, and they are not for human or veterinary use.

By placing an order, you confirm that:

• you are 18 or over
• you are buying the products for legitimate laboratory research, and have the knowledge and facilities to handle research chemicals safely
• you will not use the products, or allow them to be used, in or on humans or animals, or as food, a drug or a cosmetic
• you will store, handle and dispose of the products as shown on their product page and safety data sheet, and in line with the law
• you will not resell or supply the products to anyone for human or animal use

We record this declaration with your order. Using a product in breach of it is a breach of these terms.

3. Product information

Product pages describe each compound by its chemistry: sequence, molecular formula and weight, CAS number, purity and storage conditions. Each lot has a certificate of analysis, which you can view from the product page or by scanning the code on the vial label. Images are for illustration, and labels and packaging may vary.

We don't give advice on using our products in humans or animals, and we won't answer questions about it.

4. Your account

Keep your password secure, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account. Trade accounts are approved at our discretion, and we may ask for evidence of your organisation before we approve one.

5. Orders

When you place an order, we'll email you to say we've received it. That email is not an acceptance. A contract is formed only when we dispatch your order and email you to confirm it.

We may decline or cancel any order before dispatch, and will refund any payment in full, including if:

• the order, its notes or your messages suggest the products are for human or animal use
• we can't verify your identity, your trade account or your payment
• the quantity or delivery destination raises concerns
• we can't legally ship the products to your country
• a product is out of stock, or its price was shown in error

We may also close an account that breaches these terms, and refuse future orders from it.

6. Prices and payment

Prices are in pounds sterling. The total at checkout shows the price, any VAT that applies and the delivery charge. Payment methods available to you are shown at checkout.

If you pay by bank transfer, we'll hold your order until the payment arrives. If it hasn't arrived within 7 days, we may cancel the order.

If we find a pricing error after you've ordered, we'll contact you before dispatch to ask whether you want to continue at the correct price or cancel.

7. Delivery

Delivery options, charges and times are on our shipping page and at checkout. Delivery times are estimates. If your order hasn't arrived within 30 days of dispatch, contact us and we'll refund or replace it.

The products become your responsibility once they're delivered to the address you gave us, and they become yours once we've received full payment.

For orders outside the UK, you are responsible for checking that you can lawfully import the products, and for any import duties and taxes. We don't ship to some countries.

8. Cancellations and returns

If you're buying as a consumer, you can cancel your order within 14 days of the day you receive it, without giving a reason. To cancel, email hello@amidae.com with your order number.

Because our products are research chemicals that can't be resold once opened, this right applies only to items that are returned unopened, with their seals intact, and that have been stored as shown on the label. Items whose seal has been broken can't be returned unless they're faulty.

We'll refund you within 14 days of receiving the returned items, to your original payment method. See our return policy for how to send items back and who pays the return postage.

9. Faulty or incorrect items

If an item arrives damaged, is not what you ordered or doesn't match its certificate of analysis, email hello@amidae.com within 30 days of delivery with your order number, the lot number and photos. We'll replace it or refund you. This doesn't affect your legal rights as a consumer.

10. Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited or excluded by law. If you're a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your legal rights, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Subject to that, we are not responsible for loss or damage caused by using a product other than for laboratory research, or other than as described on its product page, label and safety data sheet, or by storing or handling it incorrectly.

11. If you're buying for a business or institution

If you buy in the course of a business or for an institution:

• the consumer cancellation right in section 8 doesn't apply
• we aren't liable for loss of profit, revenue, data or research time, or for any indirect or consequential loss
• our total liability for any order is limited to the price paid for that order
• you will compensate us for any claims, losses or costs we suffer because you, or anyone you supply, used the products in breach of section 2

12. Reviews and content you send us

If you post a review or other content on our site, it must be accurate and lawful, and must not mention human or animal use. We may edit or remove any content that doesn't meet these rules.

13. Our website

The content of our site, including text, images, data and our name and logo, belongs to us or our licensors. You may view it and print it for your own reference, but not copy or reuse it commercially without our permission.

14. Your personal data

We use your personal data as described in our privacy policy.

15. Events outside our control

We aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as courier or customs delays, strikes or severe weather. If one delays your order, we'll tell you, and you can cancel for a full refund.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your order are the ones shown on this page when you placed it.

17. General

If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later. Only you and we have rights under these terms, and you may not transfer your rights to anyone else.

18. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes can be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you're a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
